Scabies Treatment
Scabies is a skin disease that needs proper
treatment in order for it not to re appear. However, scabies can
not be treated without medication that must be prescribed to you
by your doctor. There are, though, some things to do at home in
order to prevent you and your family from being infected with
scabies again.
The very thing you should to prevent scabies
is to wash all the clothes, bed linens and towels in very hot
water. Another trick is to use a dryer for the, if you want to
prevent scabies. Furthermore, the scabies medication that you
have from your doctor should be used according to his/ her
specification. Do not use other scabies products, because you
may suffer from a chemical reaction. Scabies is mostly known for
itching. You can use antihistamines to reduce the itching
sensation that scabies gives. You also have to cut the nails
very short and clean them well, in order to remove the scabies
mites or eggs. Remember not to scratch when suffering from
scabies. You might cause an infection of the skin.
The best thing to do when having scabies is
to go to the doctor for treatment. If you do not treat scabies
properly for the first time, you might suffer from this
condition for many months. Also is scabies is not properly
treated at first, the risk of having scabies again is more
considerable.
The proper scabies treatment is with creams,
lotions and medication to relief you from the itching sensation
that accompanies scabies. The most common scabies medication is
permethrin cream. This cream kills scabies mites. It must be
applied on all the body parts that are affected by scabies and
left on for more than 12 hours. The best time to apply the
scabies cream is at night, just before going to bed. This cream
treatment lasts about one week and it is safe both in adults and
in children as well. Pregnant women may also use this scabies
cream treatment.
Antihistamines are also prescribed to a
patient if suffering from scabies. They help relief the itch
that is a trade mark for scabies. When you have a scabies
infected person around it is best to treat all people who have
had contact with the scabies patient. There are times when the
rash surface of the scabies patient may become infected. This is
another problem that has no connection with scabies and it
usually is a bacterial infection.
